Tonight, the second episode of the British spy series, Út í óvissuna [Running Blind], based on the novel by Desmond Bagley and set in Iceland, will be screened.

Several Icelandic actors appear in this three-part series. Ragnheiður Steindórsdóttir plays one of the main roles, that of Icelandic girl Elín, who gets caught up in espionage because of her English friend Alan Stewart, played by Stuart Wilson. Steindór Hjörleifsson, Harald G. Haraldsson, Árni Ibsen, Lilja Þórisdóttir, Jon Sigurbjörnsson, Flosi Ólafsson and other Icelandic actors appear in the series.

The story after the first episode: A senior British intelligence official, Slade, forces Alan Stewart, his former employee, to undertake a mission in Iceland. He must take a package from Keflavík to Húsavík. On his way Alan is attacked and kills the attacker. Alan decides to fly to Húsavík, but allows his girlfriend Elín, unknowingly, to take the package by road. Alan is pursued to Húsavík and an attempt is made to steal the package. He refuses to deliver the package to its recipient.

He and Elín then travel to Ásbyrgi. There. Graham, Slade’s scout, attacks them and is badly injured.
